Blu-ray (también conocido como Blu-ray Disc o BD) es un formato de disco óptico de nueva generación de 12 cm de diámetro (igual que el CD y el DVD) para vídeo de alta definición y almacenamiento de datos de alta densidad. El uso del LASER azul para escritura y lectura permite lograr almacenar más cantidad de información por área que los discos DVD debido a que el laser azul tiene una menor longitud de onda que los laseres usados para almacenar en discos DVD. Su capacidad de almacenamiento actualmente llega a 50 GB a doble capa y a 25 GB a una capa. Actualmente se acaba de patentar un Blu-ray de 400 GB a 16 capas y se espera que salga al mercado en el 2010, así como se tiene pensado patentar un Blu-Ray de 1 Terabyte para 2011 ó 2012. La consola de videojuegos PlayStation 3 puede leer discos de hasta doble capa y se ha confirmado que está lista para recibir el disco de 16 capas. El DVD ofreció en su momento una alta calidad, ya que era capaz de dar una resolución de 720x480 (NTSC) o 720x576 (PAL), lo que es ampliamente superado por la capacidad de alta definición ofrecida por el Blu-ray, que es de 1920x1080 (1080p). When The Saints Go Marching In The opening numbers of this concert, Manhattan Blues and Two I Shot serve as warm up numbers that loosened up the band a bit. Both songs are superlative works that are crowd pleasers whenever played. Why I Sing the Blues sounded more "funky" than I remember hearing it last, but that goes back to him never playing a song the same way twice. I really got into the soulful gospel tinged I Need You , and When the Saints Go Marching In sounded like Mardi Gras time in New Orleans. I have heard him play all these songs many times before, but they sounded as fresh as the first time I heard them in this performance.
